Boot obsession

Boot obsession

At this time of the year i feel slightly confused about my wardrobe as its the beginning of Winter but im also heading on holiday to the Cook Islands in 2 weeks so I'm also pondering my tropical outfits.

It certainly means i have been spending a lot of time online and also flicking through my fave magazines, lets face it its always about what your wearing!

Over the year's I have developed an appreciation for boots. They really have become the staple of my winter wardrobe, perfect for the cold days enjoying all that Christchurch has to offer.

On my way home from work this afternoon, I might just have to swing by the mall and possibly lay-by a couple of items.

Who says a girl cant spoil herself?

Some thoughts to ponder

After finding a fellow online twitter pal's picture of her diary filled with inspirational quotes to ensure that each day is started on the right foot and with a smile on your face, i decided to do the same.

I started finding some quotes to begin each day, my mum previously said that starting the day on a positive note will help positive things happen to you.

Thankfully the Internet has an abundance of quotes and little snippets of motivation and inspiration. It took me a hard time to pick my favourites.

"Everyday is a new beginning, so treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been and look at what can be"

"Love yourself more"

"Whatever you want to do, DO IT! There are only so many tomorrow's"

"Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen"

All of these quotes basically sums up what I'm trying to achieve this year. I am trying to stick to my goals of working towards my new career path. Lets face it if your not happy in your job then changes need to be made.

I also have been trying to start the year off working on my personal confidence. I seem to have quite a few weaker moments when it comes to this and basically I need to love myself, so that I can be happy with my relationship and other aspects of my life.

It certainly has helped so far this year, so here is to the positivity continuing!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend x

Winter Wishlist

Winter Wishlist

With the winter slowly getting colder it is time to create my winter fashion wish list. The longer I spend living in Christchurch and the colder winter days and nights I get a bigger appreciation for winter fashion which also means my wish list grows each year.

I have fallen in love with long trenchcoat jackets, warm scarves and knits and gorgeous boots. It gets me all excited just thinking about it.

I cannot wait to continue adding items to my wardrobe.

As the days get colder, i certainly love kicking back with a warm green tea, a great movie and snuggling with my special guy.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Wellington Weekend part 1

The biggest sporting party in New Zealand has sadly been and gone but what a fantastic time was had.

My first time at the famous Wellington Sevens exceeded all my expectations and i can honestly say i havent had such an amazing weekend for the longest time.

We spent the entire time staying at my best friend Antonia's house as she recently relocated from Christchurch to Wellington and it certainly was nice having our entire group staying at the same place. Felt a bit like summer camp with people everywhere and the early morning starts followed by endless amounts of laughter.

On Thursday Thomas and I made our way into town to meet up with Antz's boyfriend James, his friends and my mum who were all in town to watch the Sevens welcoming parade through the Wellington CBD.

From the minute we made our way into the city, there was the most unbelieveable buzz around the place. The stunning weather for the entire week most certainly helped but it was almost indescribable. We spent the afternoon doing a mini pub crawl soaking all the atmosphere up and sampling some wonderful hearty meals.

As you can see from these pictures its honestly the biggest costume party you can imagine and every single person i met during the event was honestly having just as good a time as me.

It is something i would recommend to anyone who enjoys not just rugby or rugby sevens but just a great sporting spectacle.

As an avid sporting fan i loved seing our NZ boys play live. We have always had a strong and proud history in the game of sevens but even though our boys couldn't win the title i still had a fantastic time.

I havent come down since. In fact work this week was quite depressing at times. Planning and brainstorming costumes for next year

I will bring you part 2 of my fantastic trip in my next post.

Enjoy the end of your weekend. Not enjoying the fact that the nights are slowly getting darker earlier.. Wish summer was all year round.

Monday Happiness

The beginning of another week has rolled around and only have today and tomorrow at work has certainly brightened my mood. I have spent a few hours brainstorming about anything and everything courtesy of Pinterest which is slowly becoming more than an obsession.

I have been making lists from new recipes to try, music to download, books to read and add to my collection and of course my suitcase list for my trip to Wellington on Wednesday this week.

It always helps to have my lists written down and I must admit I have been doing it since I was little. There is a certainly a method to the madness.

Countdown is on until the Sevens. Haven't been this excited for a very long time.

Hope your enjoying the start of your week.
Who can't quite believe January is nearly finished!

Perfect Wedding in Timaru

Last Saturday the Wedding of my good friends Tom and Em finally arrived. From my previous posts I have spent what seems like forever finding the perfect outfit to wear on this special day.

I finally decided on this navy lace dress from Boohoo.com and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. There is always a chance that buying a piece of clothing online that it wont live up to expectations but I think genuinely hit the jackpot.

The colour was exactly what i wanted and the fit was classic, simple and beautiful. I got endless compliments from people who also attended and the gorgeous bride Em kept saying how beautiful i looked, when in fact she was of course the star of the day.

The shoes are from Cotton On and were considerably comfortable for almost a whole day in heels and also served me well on the dance floor at the reception.

Thomas was one of the groomsmen and certainly scrubbed up nicely. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of him in his suit last year and I was certainly not disappointed if I do say so myself.

The day was just perfect. The beautiful ceremony brought out a few tears and even a few laughs which just continued onto the reception. It was a day where we all could celebrate two lovely people who genuinely will spend the rest of their lives together.

I certainly felt special and privileged to be asked to attend and the energy, love and warmth was just infectious.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I am well into my countdown for the Wellington sevens next weekend. With my best friends spread around our beautiful country I really do try and savor the moments where we are all together.

Critics Choice Awards 2013 - Fashion Roundup

I always love the beginning of a new year for a number of reasons. Time to set new goals and resolutions, spending time with friends and family and of course the start of the award show season in Hollywood.

It generally consists of me sitting at work and hitting the refresh button so i can absorb all the fabulosity of the red carpet.

So I have flicked through some of the fashions from the Critics Choice Awards from the other day and chosen some of my best dressed from the red carpet.

It certainly doesnt have the reputation of being a fashion show stopper event but these lovely ladies have been my pick of the bunch.

1. Amy Adams in a sweeping Vionnet paired with black Jimmy Choo open toe heels.

2. Emmy Rossum in Carolina Herrera. Amazing.

3. I simply adored Emily Blunt's white Miu Miu crystal studded neckline dress. It gave off old Holywood glamour sex appeal and looked gorgeous with her simple yet elegant strappy metallic Prada heels and Graziela jewellery.

Whose look did you love the most?
